25 Jun Shelley Bennett Memorial Fund

Rachelle “Shelley” Bennett was the loving wife of Ralph Bennett and devoted mother of Raquel Bennett (graduate of the Access Institute training program). Shelley was well known for approaching every challenge in life with joyfulness, optimism, determination, and a desire to help other people. She passed away in June 2016 following multiple strokes and vascular dementia.

Shelley had two people in her life who struggled with mental illnesses, and she was deeply thankful for the psychological and psychiatric services they received. In her honor, the Shelley Bennett Memorial Fund at Access Institute has been created to support direct psychological services for residents of the San Francisco Bay Area. Specifically, the funds will be used to provide free and low-fee psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, and elderly.

The Access Institute Family shares in the grief of this loss and hopes to honor Rachelle “Shelley” Bennett by providing the highest quality mental health care for those with the greatest need.
